Joey Arias is a downtown New York institution: cabaret performer, vocal channeler, and one of the most singular stage presences of the last forty years. He first broke into the wider culture singing backup alongside Klaus Nomi for David Bowie's 1979 Saturday Night Live performance, a run that came to include Andy Warhol and Thierry Mugler. His long-running collaboration with puppeteer Basil Twist, Arias with a Twist, remains a touchstone of downtown spectacle, reopening September 2026.
